ABOUT THE BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM PROJECT FOR DEVAN PETAL
Devan Patel approached Excel Energy with the goal of transforming his London property’s energy profile by increasing self-consumption, reducing electricity costs, and advancing his sustainability objectives.
Our team designed and delivered a strong solar PV and battery storage solution, engineered for high performance, reliability, and long-term value.
WHAT DID WE DO?
We installed a 19.32 kWp solar PV system using 46 REC 420 AA Pure-R (Alpha) modules, arranged in two optimised arrays.
The first array includes 28 modules (7.6 kWp), while the second features 18 modules (11.8 kWp).
Both arrays feed two SolarEdge Home Hub inverters: one SE10K-RWB48 and one SE8K-RWB48.
For energy storage, we combined two SolarEdge Home Battery 48V units (four modules total), providing 19.4 kWh of storage and a combined 10 kW output.
Each PV module is paired with an S500B optimiser to guarantee maximum efficiency. The system features a Smart battery energy storage system for optimal performance and battery health.
THE SYSTEM PERFORMANCE
The installed system delivers 16.72 MWh of solar energy annually, far exceeding the property’s 5.00 MWh of annual consumption.
Our design achieves 45% of energy from solar, 36% from a battery energy storage system, and only 19% from the grid. Of the total energy generated, 2.27 MWh is consumed on-site, 2.00 MWh is stored, and 12.66 MWh is exported to the grid.
Devan Patel now benefits from significant bill savings and an optimised battery lifespan, with no additional battery replacement costs.
