258.8kwp Commercial Solar PV System at Bryn Quarry, South Wales
Bryn Quarry, Wales
Project Details
Bryn Quarry selected Excel Energy for this project due to its competitive pricing, comprehensive design, and extensive experience in the construction industry. The goal was to install a commercial 258.8 kWp solar PV system at Bryn Quarry, enhancing sustainable energy use and reducing the carbon footprint of the facility.
Installation Process
Mounting System: The K2 Mini Rail allows portrait and landscape mounting in grid form thanks to the universal module clamps, which are rotatable by 90°.
Purpose: To securely mount the solar panels onto the trapezoidal roof structure of the facility, ensuring stability and durability in various weather conditions. They manufactured warrantied for 12 years.

Inverters:
Type: SMA Sunny Boy 25.0TL
This three-phase, transformer-less PV inverter was selected to meet the needs of mid- to large-scale decentralised PV systems. With a peak efficiency above 98 per cent, OptiTrac Global Peak shade management, and a DC input voltage range of up to 1000 volts, it has everything needed to ensure high efficiency.
Thanks to its integrated arc fault detection, the Sunny Tripower TL PV inverter offers a high level of security. With two independent MPP trackers, it can be used in applications with input voltages of up to 600 and up to 1000 volts, providing great flexibility in PV system design. Standard grid management functions and the latest communication and monitoring technology further enhance reliability.
Number Installed: 7
SMA is a highly reputable premium German inverter manufacturer that provides high yields and reliability.
Purpose: Convert the DC electricity generated by the solar panels into AC electricity for use in the facility to ensure efficient energy conversion and distribution.
Solar Modules:
Type: Risen Energy SYP260P 260-Watt Solar Panel Modules were chosen for their compatibility with all standard rooftop and ground mounting systems, providing a secure and adaptable solution. With the option of horizontal and vertical installation, low weight, and convenient format, they are easy to install.
Quantity: Sufficient to meet the 258.8 kWp capacity, these modules are meticulously optimized for maximum energy production, ensuring top-notch performance.
