About the project

Osney Power Station, a long-established facility in the energy sector, identified a need to decarbonise operations and secure its energy future in response to increasing environmental and regulatory pressures.

Their investment in solar PV and professional solar panel installation UK was underpinned by a focus on operational efficiency and cost control, and by a commitment to meeting both internal sustainability targets and national carbon-reduction objectives.

A key environmental advantage of our commercial solar PV installations is the reduction in carbon emissions.

For this project, the installed solar system is estimated to offset CO emissions equivalent to the annual carbon sequestration of 569 trees, demonstrating the tangible environmental impact of integrating renewable energy.

Annually, the system prevents hundreds of tonnes of CO from being released into the atmosphere, directly supporting climate change mitigation and improving local air quality.

What did we do?

Our process began with a detailed assessment of Osney’s energy requirements to ensure a tailored solution was prepared in advance.

We designed and installed a 73.14 kWp solar PV system, using SunPower SPR-MAX6-460-COM modules for their industry-leading efficiency, durability, and 40-year product warranty.

These modules were selected to maximise energy yield under varying site conditions. The system incorporates SolarEdge SE33.3K inverters, providing reliable DC-to-AC conversion, advanced monitoring capabilities, and a 12-year warranty for long-term operational assurance.

To support accurate monitoring and performance analysis of our solar PV system, we installed Inepro 380 and Watt Node meters, both with 5-year warranties. This approach supports real-time data collection and proactive maintenance for solar panel installation UK projects.

The solar modules for the solar PV system were mounted on a sturdy, weather-resistant roof mounting system engineered to withstand local site conditions.

All solar panel installation UK works were completed by our experienced technicians, and we provided a 5-year workmanship guarantee to make sure the quality and client confidence.

Detailed project planning and clear communication were important to delivering the installation on time and within budget, while adhering to strict regulatory and safety standards. Training was additionally provided to on-site staff so that they could confidently monitor and manage the new system via the app.

Project team and partnerships

This project was delivered in close partnership with key industry contractors. We subcontracted specific aspects of the work from Eco NRG Ltd, a specialist in renewable energy solutions. The main principal contractor for the site was T Clark M&E, who coordinated the wider mechanical and electrical works for the Osney Power Station upgrade.

Our collaboration with Eco NRG and T Clark M&E makes sure high-quality project delivery, strict adherence to safety standards, and successful integration with ongoing site developments.

The outcome

The installed solar PV system at Osney Power Station is projected to generate 64.09 MWh of renewable electricity annually, significantly reducing reliance on grid-supplied power and lowering operational carbon emissions by 12.39 tonnes per year.

The system achieves a rapid payback period of 3.1 years, with long-term financial modelling indicating a net profit of £ 296,278 over 25 years. These results support Osney’s sustainability objectives and demonstrate the tangible benefits of high-quality solar technology.

Osney now benefits from reduced and more predictable energy costs, supported by advanced system monitoring and reporting. The use of premium components and extended warranties gives Osney the system reliability and minimises maintenance requirements, delivering ongoing operational savings.

This installation positions Osney Power Station as a sector leader in renewable energy adoption, providing a proven model for similar facilities.

This project demonstrates how established power generation sites can successfully transition to renewable energy through strategic planning and technical expertise. Osney Power Station’s solar PV system delivers measurable environmental and financial benefits, setting a benchmark for other facilities seeking to increase sustainability and operational efficiency.
